Overview
This article covers how to add a form field to a form in a program cycle in Next.
In the example below, an Intake Form is shown, but the process of adding a form field to a form in other areas of the workflow is the same.
Add a Form Field
- Form fields are the elements that make up a form. Form fields can be user input fields such as a Name field or a Short Answer field, or they can be display fields like Presentational Text fields or Calculated Fields.
- Adding a Form Field is the same process for forms with and without sections.
To add a form field to a form:
- If the form is newly created and no form fields currently exist, select either of the +Add Fields links:
a. In the form or section
b. At the top of the screen
If the form has form fields in it already, only the +Add Fields link at the top of the page is available.
- After selecting the +Add Fields link, the Add Fields tray will slide open from the right side of the screen.
- From the available fields, choose the one(s) to add to the form by selecting the + symbol next to the field name. In the example below, Address and Multi-Select were added.
- Once all form fields are added, select the Close button to close the Add Fields tray.
5. See the Configure Form Fields article for more information about each form field.
