May 2025 Release: Secure Your Impact, Streamline Your Operations

Our May release delivers powerful new capabilities designed to protect your funding and enhance operational efficiency. This month's updates focus on two critical areas: advanced fraud prevention tools that safeguard every dollar you distribute, and intelligent workflow improvements that reduce administrative burden while maintaining the highest data quality standards.

Along with these significant feature additions, we've included numerous bug fixes and performance improvements to ensure your platform runs smoothly and reliably.

Identity Verification

Our new Identity Verification feature helps you confidently verify applicant identities without creating application bottlenecks. This powerful fraud prevention tool integrates seamlessly into your existing application workflow, ensuring funds reach legitimate recipients.

Our verification system (powered by Veriff) creates a frictionless experience for honest applicants while effectively blocking fraudulent attempts:

  • Applicants submit a photo of their government-issued ID and capture a real-time selfie
  • Advanced facial recognition technology instantly compares the images
  • Intelligent guidance helps applicants resolve common issues like poor lighting or framing
  • Administrators receive clear verification status indicators with relevant details

In today's high-stakes funding environment, robust identity verification is essential:

  • Protect Your Funds — Federal agencies lose anywhere between $233-521 billion annually to fraud, with an estimated 3-7% of all federal obligations attributable to fraudulent activities
  • Stop Sophisticated Schemes — Bad actors employ multiple tactics, including falsified identities, misrepresentation of eligibility, and submission of fraudulent documentation.
  • Scale Your Security — As application volumes increase, manual verification becomes impossible—automated identity verification provides thorough authentication without slowing down legitimate applicants.

Address Verification

Our new Address Verification feature helps you collect precise mailing information while streamlining the application experience. This intelligent validation system works in real-time as applicants enter their details, automatically standardizing addresses according to postal service formats and preventing costly delivery failures.

Our verification system creates an intuitive experience that benefits both applicants and administrators:

  • Real-time address validation occurs as applicants type, catching errors immediately
  • Smart auto-complete functionality suggests verified addresses, reducing input time by up to 60%
  • Automatic standardization ensures all addresses meet USPS formatting requirements
  • Invalid or incomplete addresses are flagged with helpful correction suggestions
  • Administrators receive comprehensive address metadata including verification status, latitude/longitude coordinates, congressional district information, and additional geographic data for enhanced program insights

Accurate address collection is critical for program success and compliance:

  • Reduce Administrative Burden — Manual address correction and re-processing can consume significant staff time, particularly for high-volume programs
  • Ensure Compliance — Many federal and state programs require verified addresses for audit trails and recipient tracking

The enhanced user experience includes intelligent error prevention that guides applicants toward successful submissions while maintaining data quality standards your organization requires.

Clear Role Definitions for Better Collaboration

When inviting new team members to your organization, role descriptions are now clearly displayed during the invitation process. This enhancement eliminates confusion about permissions and ensures invited users understand their access level before joining.

Each invitation now displays detailed role descriptions, helping you communicate expectations and responsibilities upfront:

  1. Lead Applicant: Complete application management authority including editing, submitting, and team oversight. Lead applicants can invite additional team members, manage all permissions, accept awards on behalf of the organization, and access the full post-award experience.
  2. Collaborator: Comprehensive editing capabilities with strategic limitations to maintain application integrity. Collaborators can view and edit application content but cannot submit applications, manage team permissions, invite additional users, or accept awards. They retain full access to post-award activities.

Award Agreement Enhancement

When duplicating award agreements, you can now include the progress report schedule in the duplication process. This enhancement significantly reduces setup time when working with multiple awardees who share identical reporting schedules but require different award terms and conditions. After duplication, you can modify the schedule by adding or removing progress report entries as needed.

Advanced Reporting Enhancements:

Gain deeper insights with our improved reporting capabilities. You'll now be able to include enhanced field-level metadata and sync profile templates to reporting. These improvements give you more comprehensive visibility into your program's performance and applicant data.

Form Field Metadata

Organizational Owners and Administrators can now easily identify the source of synced data fields in Report Builder for Intake, Request and Feedback forms. When managing multiple programs with various cycles and forms, it was previously challenging to determine which specific form or cycle a field originated from, particularly when similar questions appeared across different programs.

We've added detailed metadata that appears as a hover tooltip when you click the "?" icon next to any synced field. This tooltip displays the Program Name, Cycle Name, and Form Name, enabling you to:

  • Make informed decisions when creating dashboards and reports
  • Quickly identify data sources without confusion

Sync Profile Templates

Dashboard Visualizations now only sync the profile types that your program uses. This improvement reduces confusion and ensures more relevant data in your analytics by excluding inactive organizational profile templates from the sync process. Our team will handle any account configuration needed to enable this improvement; just contact our support team.

Recent Improvements and Fixes

  • PDF Download for Post Award Reports: Program Owners and Managers can now download Post Award progress reports data as PDF files with properly displayed table data.
  • Waitlist Corrected: We've resolved an issue affecting programs using deadline-based cycles. When making final selections for awarding, applications were incorrectly moved to a denied status instead of the waitlist.
  • Rolling Cycle Improvements: Enhanced bulk application management to allow moving all applications from intake or review rounds at once to the next stage. We fixed an issue where the "Advance" applications button would become unresponsive, requiring a page refresh to function correctly.
  • Collaboration Enhancement: Resolved an issue where inviting a collaborator would inadvertently create duplicate draft applications. Collaborator invitations now work seamlessly without affecting existing applications.
