IRS-TIN Verification

Our new IRS TIN Verification feature provides a powerful fraud prevention tool that ensures the accuracy and validity of taxpayer identification numbers—including Social Security Numbers (SSNs) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITIN) for individuals and Employer Identification Numbers (EINs) for organizations—before funds are disbursed. This seamless integration helps you maintain compliance with federal tax regulations while protecting your organization and applicants from identity theft and fraudulent activities.

Our verification system connects directly with IRS databases to authenticate TINs in real-time:

  • Administrators can enable verification on Individual Profiles (SSN/ITIN) and/or Organization Profiles (EIN)
  • The system instantly validates TINs against official IRS records
  • Clear verification status indicators provide administrators with immediate results
  • Automated checks eliminate manual verification processes and reduce processing delays

In today's complex regulatory landscape, TIN verification is a critical safeguard:

  • Prevent Fraud and Identity Theft — Verify that funds are going to legitimate recipients with valid taxpayer identification, stopping bad actors who use stolen or fabricated SSNs or EINs for fraudulent applications
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance — Meet IRS requirements for taxpayer identification and data protection, avoiding penalties and audit complications
  • Reduce Costly Payment Failures — Invalid or incorrect TINs lead to failed payments, administrative burden, and delayed fund distribution—automated verification catches errors before they become problems

Manage Multiple Organization Profiles with Ease

For applicants who work with multiple organizations—like grant writers or consultants—we have great news. You can now manage all your organization profiles from one account.

If you're a profile owner for multiple entities, simply use the new View dropdown on your Organization Profile page to switch between organizations. You can also continue to manage your individual profile alongside your organizational ones. This means you can seamlessly move between the different entities you represent without logging in and out or managing separate accounts.

Whether you're applying on behalf of multiple nonprofits, managing grants for different clients, or representing various organizations, keeping track of each profile is now effortless. You can view and edit any organization profile where you're designated as the profile owner, all from a single login.

No setup required—if you own multiple profiles, this feature is already available to you.
