Overview

This step-by-step guide shows Program Admins how to set up Member Types for their program in Next.

What are Program Member Types?

Program Member Types are the roles people can have within a specific program. Roles control what a person can see and do in that program. Learn more about member permissions here: ➡️Understanding Member Types: Roles & Permissions

  • Before you invite new members to your program, you need to choose which member types you want. The Member Types section is where you set up those types.

Who can manage Member Types?

  • Organization Owners
  • Client Admins
  • Program Owners
  • Program Managers

Step-By-Step Instructions

Access Program Member Types

  1. From the Programs page, click View Program to open the program you want to work in.

  2. Click Program Settings in the left-hand menu.

  3. Click the drop-down arrow on the far right of the Member Types section.

The Member Types section shows all the available roles for your program. Enabling a role here makes it selectable when you invite someone to the program

There are five possible program-level roles:

A. Program Owner: This role can be assigned to only one person. They have full control of the program's settings and can finalize awards. A Program Owner is required for every program. To change the Program Owner, see ➡️ Change Program Owner (coming soon).

B. Program Manager: This role has access to everything the Program Owner does except they cannot change the Program Owner and finalize Award Decisions.

C. Program Staff: This role has view-only access to the program and cannot access the program’s settings.

D. Reviewers: This role only has access to review their assigned applications.

E. *Approvers: This role only has access to review their assigned approvals.
(*This role is only available if approvals are enabled for your organization. If you would like this feature enabled, please contact Customer Success).

💡For a detailed description of each Member Type, their permissions, and use cases, see ➡️ Understand Member Types: Roles & Permissions

Enable/Disable Member Types

  1. Use the toggles to the far-right of the member type to enable or disable a member type.

2. After making changes, click Save Changes in the bottom-right corner to finalize your selections.

A confirmation message appears in the bottom-left confirming your member types were saved.
