Overview

This step-by-step guide shows Program Admins how to set up Member Types for their program in Next.

What are Program Member Types?

Program Member Types are the roles people can have within a specific program. Roles control what a person can see and do in that program.

  • Before you invite new members to your program, you need to choose which member types you want.
  • The Member Types section in Next (covered in this article) is where you set up those types.

Who can manage Member Types?

  • Organization Owners
  • Program Owners
  • Program Managers

Set Up Program Member Types

1. Open the Program.

2. Click Program Settings in the left-hand menu.

3. Click Member Types in the left-hand menu.

The Member Types screen shows all the available roles for your program.

There are five possible program-level roles:

A. Program Owner: This role can be assigned to only one person. They have full control of the program's settings and can finalize awards.

B. Program Manager: This role has access to everything the Program Owner does except they cannot change the Program Owner and finalize Award Decisions.

C. Program Staff: This role has view-only access to the program and cannot access the program’s settings.

D. Reviewers: This role only has access to review their assigned applications.

E. *Approvers: This role only has access to review their assigned approvals.
(*This role is only available if approvals are enabled for your organization. If you would like this feature enabled, please contact Customer Success).

💡For a detailed description of each Member Type, their permissions, and use cases, see ➡️ Understand Member Types: Roles & Permissions

4. If you don't need a role in your Program, turn it off by toggling the switch to NO on the right side of the role name and description.

5. Click Save Changes in the upper-right corner to finalize your selections.

6. A confirmation message appears in the bottom-left confirming your updated program settings.
