Overview

This article covers how to expand or collapse a section from an administrator's view within a sectioned form in a program cycle in Next.

In the example below, an Intake Form is shown, but the process of expanding or collapsing a section in a Post Award Report Form is the same.

Expand or Collapse a Section

When working with sections, especially when a lot of information is needed for the intake form, the form can get rather lengthy.  Collapsing a section will temporarily hide that section’s form fields as an administrator creates or edits a form.  The form fields can be made visible again to the administrator by expanding the section.

To collapse a section:

  1. Select within a section to make it actively editable. The section label appearing, as highlighted in the screenshot below, indicates the active section.

  1. Within the section to collapse, select the Collapse ^ link.

  1. The section’s form fields will now be temporarily hidden from the administrator.

To expand a section:

  1. Select within a section to make it actively editable. The section label appearing, as highlighted in the screenshot below, indicates the active section.

  1. Within the section to expand, select the Expand v link.

  1. The section’s form fields will now be revealed to the administrator.

--- IMPORTANT ---

Collapsing or expanding sections from the administrator's view does not change how the sections appear to applicants.
