The organization you're applying to verifies your tax identification number to ensure compliance and confirm your identity. This verification process helps protect you and the organization by validating that your SSN, ITIN, or EIN matches official IRS records.

How to Complete IRS/TIN Verification

For Individual Applicants

  1. Log in and begin applying for the opportunity
  2. The applicant profile form is the first page of the application
  3. Enter your Legal Name, Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN)
  4. The system will automatically validate your number for proper format
  5. Click Save to submit your information for verification

For Organization Applicants

  1. Log in and begin applying for the opportunity
  2. The applicant profile form is the first page of the application
  3. Enter your Organization Legal Name (as registered with the IRS)
  4. Enter your Employer Identification Number (EIN)
  5. The system will automatically validate your EIN for proper format
  6. Click Save to submit your information for verification

What Information Do Administrators See?

Your actual tax identification number is kept private and secure. Administrators can only see whether your TIN has been successfully verified against IRS records—they cannot view your SSN or ITIN.
