This release note is a little different from our usual format. We're walking you through what changed in Reporting — because when you log in, the dashboards and reports will look different than what you're used to.
We switched reporting vendors, and we think you'll find the new experience significantly easier to use. The biggest upgrade is in how you interact with and build your own reports — the new tool is more powerful, more intuitive, and gives you more control over your data than ever before. This is Phase 1, with more on the way — including AI-powered analytics that answer plain-language questions about your data.
All customers have access to Analytics (you may know it as Standard Reporting or Dashboards — we've heard all the names). Below, we'll show you what it looked like before and what you'll see now. We'll also cover what changed in Advanced Reporting (aka Report Builder).

Analytics (Standard Reporting)
Good news: this transition should be largely seamless. All the same data is there — just reorganized.
What changed in Analytics
Previously, when you navigated to Analytics at the Organization level, you were greeted by three separate dashboards: Organization Summary, Program Activity, and Program Awards.

Now, you'll land on a single dashboard called Organization Summary. The Program Activity and Program Awards data and visualizations are all still there — they've just been consolidated into tabs within Organization Summary.

Note: these changes will look the same at the Program level. Filters will automatically scope the data to show only the details for your specific program.

Filters
The new filter bar makes it easy to zero in on exactly what you need. You can quickly set a date range, include or exclude specific programs, filter by program type (for example, view only your Scholarship programs), or filter by applicant using the Response User Name field.
Download & Present
You now have more flexibility in how you share and export dashboards, click on the three dots in the top right corner of your dashboard or within a visualization.
-
Download PDF — Download an entire dashboard or select specific visualizations. Choose your format, which tabs to include, or pick individual charts.
-
Present — Display a dashboard full-screen like a slideshow, great for meetings or presentations.
-
Download within a visualization — Inside any individual visualization, you can export as a PNG, XLSX, or CSV. Use PNG to capture the visual as-is (bar chart, pie chart, etc.). Use XLSX or CSV to export the underlying data as a table.

Advanced Reporting (Report Builder)
This is where you'll notice the biggest changes — and the biggest gains. If you build custom reports or have access to Advanced Reporting but haven't had a chance to dig in yet, here's what you need to know.
The new reporting tool is a significant upgrade from Report Builder. Searching and working with your data is faster, more flexible, and far more intuitive. Instead of navigating multiple menus to find and build reports, you can simply type what you're looking for, and the tool will do the heavy lifting.
What changed in Advanced Reporting
Previously, you navigated to Analytics, then Report Builder, then selected Analyze to reach your reports.

Now everything lives in one place. When you click on Analytics, you'll see and build your custom dashboards and visualizations directly from that page. Any dashboards you had previously should appear under Custom Dashboards.

Don't see your dashboard? Reach out to us through Support — it may simply be a sharing setting we need to adjust. And don't worry: we took screenshots of all existing dashboards before the migration. We'll get you back up and running.
What's new or different in Advanced Reporting
If you already have custom dashboards, the image below highlights the key things you can do. See the Advanced Reporting help article for full instructions.
1. Add new visualizations Add new visualizations directly to the dashboard you're on. You can choose your data, pick your chart type, and drop it right into your existing layout.
2. Edit, share, and customize Dashboard owners can rename dashboards, resize and rearrange visualizations, update colors and styling, and even organize content into separate tabs. When sharing, choose between view-only or edit access for teammates.
3. Explore within a visualization Click into any individual visualization to go deeper. You can add your own filters, bring in additional columns, and compare data — all without affecting the rest of the dashboard. You can also hover over data points for details.
How to build a new dashboard and visualization
This is where the new tool really shines. Previously, building a custom report in Report Builder required navigating multiple steps and knowing exactly where to look for your data. Now, it's as simple as typing what you want.
Start by creating a new dashboard using the link in the top left corner. Give it a name and description.
Then just start typing what data you want in the search bar. The tool intelligently suggests relevant fields as you type and surfaces the ones you use most often — so instead of hunting through menus, your data comes to you. It's a much faster, more natural way to work.
⚠️ Required Step: Set Your Data Source to Custom Model
⚠️ Important: When building a new report, you'll need to manually change the data source to Custom Model (see red box below). This is a one-time step and a temporary issue that will be resolved within days.
You can also browse your data using the left-hand panel. New in this release — custom field data is now grouped by program name, making it much easier to find exactly what you're looking for without having to know where it lives.
Then hit go, your data will open up in a table or the suggested visualization.
From there, use the chart icon on the right to explore different chart types — the ones that work best with your data will be highlighted so you can quickly find the right way to visualize what you're seeing.
