Overview
This step-by-step guide shows applicants how to revise and resubmit a Progress Report in Next.
What Happens When a Progress Report Revision is Requested?
The only way to make changes to a progress report is if your program administrator requests a revision. When that happens, your report's status updates to Revision Requested, and you'll get an email notification. Once you open the report, you'll see the administrator's comments and can only edit the fields flagged for revision.
If an amendment is in progress on your award, you can only resubmit the report if you saved a draft of your changes before the amendment started. If you haven't started and saved your revisions yet, you'll need to wait until the amendment is complete.
Step-By-Step Instructions
Open & Revise Your Report
- Click the Log In link in your email notification to open the report.
To get there manually: Log in to your account, then click Your Awards in the top menu. Click the hyperlinked award name to open the award, then select the Reports tab. Find the report with the status “Revisions Requested” and click the hyperlinked report name to open it.
2. At the top of the report, you’ll see a blue banner with the following text: “Requested revisions are highlighted below, please address and submit.”
3. Look for the yellow “Requested Revisions” comment boxes on the fields that need to be updated. Review the comments to determine what revisions are required.
4. Make the necessary updates to those fields.
You can only edit fields that have been flagged for revision. All other fields will be locked.
5. Add an optional comment explaining your changes in the textboxes below the requested revisions boxes.
To save your edits and finish later, click Save as Draft in the upper-right corner.
Re-Submit Your Revised Report
- When finished, click Re-Submit in the upper-right corner of the report.
After clicking, Re-Submit, if the program requires you to verify your profile information, you’ll see a “Verify Your Profile” screen. Review your profile details, make any necessary changes, then click Verify Profile and Submit Progress Report at the bottom of the screen.
2. In the confirmation pop-up, click Submit.
What Happens After Resubmitting a Report?
Once you resubmit, your report's status updates to “Submitted.” From there, the program administrator can:
- Approve the report: You'll get an email notification. No further action is needed from you.
- Request revisions again: You'll get an email notification and will need to make changes and resubmit again.
- Reject the report: You'll get an email notification. This is final — the report can't be edited or resubmitted after that.
