Overview

Some award agreements include a *Budget section, which requires a start and end date for the budget period covered by the award. You must add these dates before you can notify the recipient — this guide walks you through how.
*Budgets is an add-on feature and is not included in all plans. If you'd like to add it, please contact Customer Success

Who can add budget start and end dates to an award agreement?

  • Organization Owners
  • Client Admins (in partner-managed accounts)
  • Program Owners (Note: this is the only role that can Notify the award recipient)
  • Program Managers

Before You Begin

  1. You must have already saved an award offer with an award agreement selected. For steps, see ➡️Designate Award Offers and Agreements

  2. Confirm the award agreement includes a Budget section. Not all agreements will have one. If you need to create a new award agreement template that includes a budget section, see ➡️Creating and Publishing Award Agreement Templates > Include Awardee's Budget.

Step-By-Step Instructions

If you skip these steps, you'll see the following error(s) when you try to notify the recipient: "Budget start date is required" and/or "Budget end date is required."

If your award agreement has more than one budget section, repeat these steps for each one.

  1. In the applicant’s saved award, click the hyperlinked Award Agreement

(To get here: Open the Cycle, then click Awarding in the left-hand menu).

  2. Scroll to the Budget section of the agreement.

The From Date field sets the budget start date; the To Date field sets the budget end date — for example, the start and end of a grant year or project phase.

3. Enter or select a month/year from the dropdown in the "From Date" box.

4. Enter or select a month/year from the dropdown in the "To Date" box.

5. Click Save in the upper-right corner of the Budget section.

What to Do Next

Once the budget dates are saved, you can notify the recipient. See ➡️Notify Award Recipients

Only the Program Owner can notify award recipients.
