Overview
This article explains to Program Admins what they can do from the Admin Controls panel inside an application submission during a Review Round in Next.
What is Admin Controls?
Admin Controls is an administrative panel that program admins can open within an individual application in an intake or review round.
When the Admin Controls button is selected in a review round, a panel slides open from the right side of the screen. Within this panel, there could be the following options:
- Disqualify current applicant
- Reverse a disqualification
- Request a revision to this application
- Run a compliance check
- View a history of application edits
Who can access Admin Controls?
- Organization Owners
- Program Owners
- Program Managers
- Client Admins (Partner Organizations)
How to Open Admin Controls
Navigate to the Review Round
- In the program, click the cycle name to open the cycle.
- In the award cycle, select the review round from the left-hand menu.
- Click the hyperlinked Applicant ID or Applicant Name to open the application.
- Click Admin Controls in the upper-right corner of the application.
- A panel opens with three tabs: Workflow, Compliance, and Edit Logs.

Workflow Tab
Disqualify current applicant
Disqualifying an applicant removes the application from consideration for an award. For step-by-step instructions, see ➡️Disqualify an Applicant.
Reverse disqualification
Reversing a disqualification restores an application to its last active status. For step-by-step instructions, see ➡️How to Reverse a Disqualified Application.
📌Note: This option only appears in Admin Controls after you've disqualified an applicant.
Request a revision to this application
Requesting a revision asks the applicant to update specific fields in their application. For step-by-step instructions, see ➡️Request Revisions on an Application.
Compliance Tab
⚠️IMPORTANT: Compliance checks will only show if they are enabled at the organization level in individual and/or organization profile forms and set up in Cycle Settings. Available compliance checks depend on which ones are set up.
Run a Compliance Check
Running a compliance check confirms an organization's nonprofit status through GuideStar or its federal compliance status through SAM.gov. For step-by-step instructions, see ➡️Compliance & Fraud Protection Articles
Edit Logs Tab
⚠️IMPORTANT: Edit logs will only show if a program admin has made edits to the application. To do so, admin application editing must be enabled in Cycle Settings. For more information, see ➡️Edit Submitted Applications.
View Application Edit Logs
Application Edit Logs show a history of edits made to an application by program admins, including who made each change and what was updated. For step-by-step instructions, see ➡️ View Application Edit Logs.
