This step‑by‑step guide shows applicants how to manage Goals and Milestones after receiving an award, including how to mark milestones as complete, track progress toward goals, and upload supporting files.

What are Goals and Milestones?
If the award cycle you applied to required goals and milestones, you created them when you filled out your application (Intake Form). Now that you’ve received your award, you’ll use the Goals and Milestones section to track your progress.
- Goal: The main outcome you want to achieve.

Milestones: The smaller steps you’ll take to reach a goal.
Step-By-Step Instructions
Access Your Goals and Milestones
- Log in to your account.
- Click Your Awards in the top menu.
- Click View Award.
- In the Award, click the Goals and Milestones tab at the top.
➜ You’ll see a complete list of the goals you included in your application.
View Goal Details
- Find the goal you want to view. Click the down arrow on the far-right.
➜ Once expanded, you’ll see more information about the goal, including the milestones you added.
Mark a Milestone as Completed
- Locate the milestone you finished.
- Click the Pending button in the Status column.
- Select Completed from the dropdown menu.
What Happens After I Mark a Milestone as Completed?

Progress Updates Instantly: The completion percentage at the top of the page updates automatically to show how much of the goal is finished.

Example: If your goal has four milestones, each weighted at 25%, completing one milestone updates the goal to 25% complete.

Admins See Your Changes: The Program Admins managing your award will see:
- The milestone status change from Pending to Completed.
- Your updated completion percentage.
Upload Supporting Files
- Click the upload icon
next to the goal you want to add a file to.
- Select the file from your device.
➜ Once uploaded, the number of file(s) you uploaded will appear next to that goal for the Program Admin to see.
💡Tip: To preview the files you uploaded, click the Uploads button. In the pop-up, click the download icon
in the Actions column. The file will download to your computer. Open it from your downloads folder.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I edit my goals or milestones after receiving an award?
No. Goals and milestones are part of your award agreement and can’t be changed by you or the Program Admin. You can still update milestone statuses and upload supporting files.
Why can’t I see any goals or milestones in my award?
If you don’t see them, the program didn’t require goals and milestones for your award.
What does the completion percentage mean?
It shows how much of the goal you’ve completed based on the weight of each milestone. When you mark a milestone as Completed, the percentage updates automatically.
Do Program Admins get notified when I complete a milestone?
No automatic notification is sent. However, Program Admins will see your updated milestone status and completion percentage when they view your award.
What types of files can I upload?
Most common file types work (PDF, Word, Excel, images). If a file won’t upload, it’s usually due to size.
Can I delete a file I uploaded?
No. Files can’t be deleted once uploaded. If you uploaded something by mistake, contact your Program Admin.
Can I mark a goal as completed?
No. Only milestones can be marked as completed. The system updates the goal’s overall completion percentage automatically.
