Communication Log

No more guessing whether an email went out.

The Communication Log gives program staff a complete, searchable record of every email automatically triggered by platform events — who received it, what triggered it, when it was sent, and whether it was successfully delivered. Sent, failed, and queued statuses are all visible, giving your team complete transparency into every outbound communication.

Everything is tied directly to programs, organizations, and applicants, so the full picture is always right where you need it. Find it at the Org Level under More → Logs.

Progress Report Revisions

Program admins can send a progress report back to grantees with a revision request and comments. The grantee updates and resubmits — keeping the report moving forward.

It works just like revision requests on intake forms, so the experience is familiar for both staff and grantees. It keeps the process collaborative rather than punitive, and ensures your program ends up with accurate, complete reporting that reflects the actual work being done.

Post Award Profile Check

If you're using Progress Reports, you can now enable Profile Checks to prompt awardees to review and update their information — addresses, names, and more — before completing each submission. A simple way to keep awardee data current without the back-and-forth.

Add a Profile section to any Progress Report form to get started. It works on already-published, in-use reports too. You choose which fields awardees need to verify.

Visibility of Eligibility Results

The new Eligibility Results dashboard gives program staff a full list of everyone who completed an eligibility survey. No more guessing why someone didn't make it through or how many prospective applicants are getting screened out.

Note: Eligibility results only appear for signed-in applicants. Responses submitted while previewing without an account won't be captured.

Coming soon: The ability to view individual question responses to spot where applicants are getting stuck, and override eligibility outcomes when needed.

Applicant Insight Form

The Applicant Insight Form gives Program Teams a dedicated place to capture internal notes, award history, and performance context about applicants — saved at the org level and carried across every program. Program Owners, Managers, and Staff can view the Applicant Insight form during Intake and Review, so everyone makes decisions with the same context. Reviewers and applicants never see it.

No more tribal knowledge, no more digging through old emails. Just a shared, consistent record that travels with the applicant.

Goals & Milestones: Post Award

Goals & Milestones is now part of Post Award.

Goals & Milestones lets admins build measurable objectives directly into intake forms and award agreements, giving applicants the ability to propose their own or collaborate on shared goals before funding is ever confirmed.

Awardees can mark milestones completed directly in post-award and track overall progress with a real-time completion percentage. Admins get the same view, so everyone stays aligned on what's been accomplished and what's still ahead.

Goals & Milestones is included in select packages. Contact your Customer Success Manager to add it to your account. Next up is Goals & Milestones data to be included in Report Builder.

Amendments: Budget Reallocation

When an awardee's budget needs to change after an award is finalized, Program Owners can now handle it without leaving the platform. Select "Revise Budgets" when issuing an amendment to decrease the award amount, move funds across line items and categories, or add new line items. The award agreement updates automatically and every change is versioned for a full audit trail.

No more offline workarounds. Budget amendments are now part of the formal record.

Coming soon: the ability to adjust funds across budget categories.

Amendments: Budget Reallocation is available to all customers using budgets with the Financial Management module.

Approval Management now available for Reimbursements

Submittable Next’s Approval Management feature lets admins route award agreements and disbursements through a structured approval process, whether that's one group or several sequential ones like legal and finance. Controlled visibility ensures each approver sees only the data fields relevant to their role, keeping sensitive information protected throughout the process.

Now that structure extends to expenses and reimbursements. Every expense and reimbursement request can move through the same approval workflow, keeping financial oversight centralized and your team out of their inboxes chasing signatures.

Approval Management is included in select packages. Contact your Customer Success Manager to learn more.

Flexible Workflow: Award Reversal & Re-offer

Sometimes an award offer needs to be taken back — and sometimes it needs a second chance. Program Owners and Organization Owners can now reverse an award directly in the platform, and re-offer it when the time is right.

Award Reversal is available for offers in Offered status. Once an applicant accepts, the award cannot be reversed.

Re-Offer Award allows you to resend an award offer that was declined by mistake or previously reversed. To re-offer an award, Allow Re-Awarding must be turned on in Cycle Setup.

Profile Look-Up by Custom Organization ID

Admins can now assign a custom Organization ID as the primary lookup key for organization profiles. When applicants search by that ID, they can find and select the right organization, apply on its behalf, and skip manual data entry — key profile details are already populated.

Custom Organization IDs can be added manually, via profile import, or through an integration.

This feature is available to all customers but is not on by default. Contact support to get this enabled.

Profile: New field type “Payee”

Admins can now add a Payee field directly to Organization and Individual profiles to store structured payment destination information — identity, address, banking details, and preferred payment method — all in one place.

When creating a disbursement or reimbursement request, admins can select the appropriate payee entry directly, so payment details are always accurate and ready to go.

Read-Only Field Configuration

Admins can now mark individual fields as read-only directly in Form Builder, keeping data locked for users who should see it but not change it. This is especially useful for fields populated by imports or ERP integrations, where accidental edits can create downstream headaches.

Program Owners and Managers can still edit read-only fields in submitted applications, and Org Owners can edit them in Organization Profile forms — so the right people always retain access when they need it.
